Sketching the idea

The production process starts with a visual idea and sketching. The design of each piece must be in line with the character of the whole collection.

Design in practice

The visual idea is drawn into a bitmap, which is part of a special programming language for a jacquard knit.

Knitting

After programming and fine-tuning the knit, actual production starts. The first step consists of knitting a large rectangular piece of patterned fabric.

Separation

Individual pieces of fabric are divided by a separating thread in the horizontal plane and manually cut in the vertical plane. The result is a small rectangle, which forms the basis of the future hat.

Pressing

.

Once the knitting is completed, each piece must be ironed and stabilized in a hydraulic steam press. The knit evens out, which makes for easier manipulation in the following steps.

Branding

Every ambitious producer strives to build a good name for themselves and raise awareness of their brand. A good brand is a guarantee of quality and prestige. KAMA has been sewing its logo on hats and sweaters for 27 years.

Preparation for cutting

Each product has its tried-and-tested cut, which is drawn manually.

Cutting

A band saw follows the drawn line and cuts through several layers of fabric at the same time.

Lining

Different types of hats have different properties and, consequently, their production varies. This model, for example, has thin fleece insulation lining inside.

Sewing

The final sewing step consists of sealing the hat with a few inside stitches using an overlock machine.

Hand finish

At the very end, a tassel is attached to the hat, the seams are neatened manually and the product is thoroughly inspected. The hat is then fitted with tags containing information about the materials it is made of and their function.
